MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Milano Technical Group’s Mechanical engineers develop the next-generation technologies that transform the agriculture landscape, explore new methods of farming, and set the bar for industry efficiency. Our products must handle wide-ranging scenarios, and extend well beyond those of traditional agriculture research firms. We're looking for engineers/developers who bring fresh ideas from all areas: Vehicle design, Mechatronics, and large-scale system design, and cost effective implement design.
As a mechanical engineer, you will work on specific projects critical to Milano Technical Group’s customers and industry needs. We need our engineers to be adaptable, demonstrate leadership qualities, and have the needed optimism and determination to take on new problems as we drive technology and the industry forward. In this position you would help build the world’s best, and most highly-sophisticated advanced agriculture automated systems. You would be part of a small group of engineers that will quickly develop high-quality, cost effective, and  uniquely designed equipment for the new generation of automation in agriculture. Responsibilities:

  • Above working knowledge of C, C++, and Matlab and willing to learn other languages to working knowledge.

  • Fluent in CAD and analysis software, i.e. SOLIDWORKS simulation, OnShape, or AUTODESK.

  • Great understanding of component design and materials.

  • Fluent in building data logging/acquisition systems including, including sensors (IMU, thermo, flow, strain gauges, accelerometers, etc.)

  • Experience in micro controllers for prototyping.

  • Working knowledge in manufacturing(machining, welding, metal formation, injection molding, etc.).

  • High level knowledge and experience in sensor types, communication methods, measurement methods. In cooperation with industrial I/O modules or data acquisition systems.

  • Preferred Working knowledge of vision systems and frame grabbers.

  • Oversee the installation and operation of various mechanical systems

  • In-Field Code modification.

  • Develop and present schematic design proposals

  • Document design narratives & engineering analysis

  • The greater diversity in engineering experience the better.

  • Bachelors Degree, Recent graduates welcome( with hands-on experience at university)

  • Strong Communication skills and critical thinking skills.

  • Coding experience is a must.

  • Willingness to perform field studies in summer.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

 Software Engineer/Developer

We're looking for engineers/developers who bring fresh ideas from all areas: robotics, large-scale system design, controls, image processing, artificial-intelligence, language processing, and UI design, image recognition, machine learning.
As a software engineer, you will work on specific projects critical to Milano Technical Group’s customers and industry needs. We need our engineers to be adaptable, demonstrate leadership qualities, and have the needed optimism and determination to take on new problems as we drive technology and the industry
forward. In this position you would help build the world’s best, and most highly-sophisticated recognition software. You would be part of a small group of engineers that will quickly develop high-quality, well tested software, for the new generation of automation in agriculture. Requirements
• Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably C/C++ or Python)
• Familiarity with common IDEs and source control (e.g. Git, Visual Studio)
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning and TensorFlow
• Previous experience with vision a plus
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude

• BS/BA, in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

ENGINEERING INTERN

Responsibilities (Variable according to applicant strengths)


• Work with mechanical engineers, Software engineers, and field engineers, exchanging ideas and contributing to discussions.
• Prepare/Create data acquisition programs and protocols.
• Acquire and analyze data from various sensors (LDS, Lidar, Camera, IMU, etc.)
• Mechanical design for various components
• Housing design (packaging)
• Recommend and perform improvements
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Field-test developed hardware and/or software solutions


Requirements


• Involvement in extracurricular activities
• Brief project “portfolio” outlining major relevant class/personal projects
• Previous exposure to a CAD programs
• Familiarity with at least one programming language and a corresponding IDE (preferably C/C++ or Python)


• Willingness to learn and apply new programming languages, CAD software, and engineering theory (as well as any other tools) on the go
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Coursing a BS/BA or equivalent in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

IMAGE PROCESSING ENGINEER

 

At Milano Technical Group we are seeking an Image Processing Engineer who analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Determines and develops approach to solutions


Responsibilities 

• Establishes requirements for moderately complex software design projects. Prioritizes features to insure the most important get implemented. 

• Participates in code reviews and identifies bad sections early in the process and then recodes them. 

• Completes all phases of moderately complex software design projects. Carries out all in-process and final inspection activities. • Develops and tests documentation for the software projects. 

• Considers latest technologies and new approaches to designs and implementation of new designs. 

• Reviews changes or upgrades to existing software and / or firmware designs. Develops new technology to solve unique problems. 

• Provide recommendations and solutions to problems using experience in multiple technical areas. 

• Applies existing technology in new ways to improve performance and productivity. 

• May develop new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of problem 

• Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. 

• Receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments. 

• May influence the activities of junior level personnel (exempt professional and non-exempt). 

• Networks with senior, internal and external, personnel in own area of expertise. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts


Qualifications 

• Preferred Education: Master’s or PhD degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required 

• Preferred Work Experience (years): Bachelors degree and 3+ years experience or Masters degree and 2+ years.experience. Significant software development experience is required, preferably in the 'C' Programming language. 

• Understanding of embedded systems a plus 

• Good software engineering practice a must.

FIELD TECHNICIAN AND FABRICATOR

Our products must handle wide-ranging scenarios and extend well beyond those of traditional agriculture research firms.

We're looking for individuals who bring fresh ideas and have curiosities in many areas such as: rugged design, mechanical design, packaging, machining, fabrication, electronics, micro-controllers, robotics, controls, vision systems, AI, and machine learning.
As an MTG Colleague, you will work on specific portions of one or more projects critical to Milano Technical Group’s customers and industry needs. You should be adaptable, demonstrate leadership qualities, and have the needed optimism and determination to take on new problems as we drive technology and the industry forward. You will be part of a small team that will quickly develop high-quality software and hardware, exposing you to a broad array of tools and disciplines.

Some responsibilities include assembling finished products using tools, machines, and your own hands. Fabricates various types of products and will utilize:

Primary responsibilities

  • Study and interpret assembly instructions.

  • Create fabrication and assembly schedules and timelines with teams.

  • Fabricate and assemble household appliances, automobiles, and computers, electronic devices

  • Determine if all parts are present for completion.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.

  • Read parts list/BOM.

  • Assemble tools and materials.

  • Positions parts and subassemblies.

  • Interpret measurements.

  • Verify specifications.

  • Assemble components.

  • Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.

  • Alter dimensions to fit specifications.

  • Resolve assembly and production issues.

  • Complete preventive maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.

  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe.

  • Report errors in product line.

  • Check stock to ensure inventory is replenished.

  • Complete quality control forms.

  • Place orders for supplies.

  • Participate in product development.

  • Build prototypes and test products.

  • Install component in-field and in shop on machinery.

  • Create weldments with TIG + MIG.

  • Utilize Plasma CNC Machines.

  • Prepare Materials for Machining
